Mrs. Cluck’s Third Grade Richmond Elementary School 2010 – 2011 Friday, September 3, 2010 Dear Parents,
We’ve had a successful first week! Along with waking our brains up to addition, subtraction, and other math concepts, we wrote sentences and started a unit on energy. Next week we will start Formula Phonics groups and the first Homework Packet will be due on Friday, 9/10. Remember: math is assigned on a daily basis and due the following day. Reading Logs will also be in the Homework Folder. Please keep track of what your child reads, but most importantly HOW LONG he/she reads. Along with our regular incentives, we have added another reward for anyone reaching their first benchmark by Oct. 1; a viewing of How to Train Your Dragon with popcorn and all! A benchmark for 3rd grade is 12 hours (720 min.). For those who do not reach the first benchmark by 10/1, we will have an alternate plan for them.
Thank you for all the supplies that have been sent in. You have all been very generous. I will, of course, be begging for more (tissues, wipes usually) as the year goes by. Have a wonderful 3-day weekend!
